Safe-T Mini: Archos Develops New Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet
Cryptocurrency continues to draw more industries into the sector. We have witnessed many energy, financial, technology and even government institutions unable to resist the lure of cryptocurrency.
Archos, a French-based electronic digital company best known for its audio accessories is the latest industry to join the trend.
Archos have joined fellow French manufacturer, Ledger, in manufacturing cryptocurrency hardware wallet. Its Safe-T mini wallet will be Archos first product in the cryptocurrency sector.
A cryptocurrency hardware wallet provides a more secure way to store public and private keys used for making transactions. It also allows you to monitor all cryptocurrency transactions.
The new Safe-T mini from the Archos manufacturers contains most features found on popular hardware wallets such as the Ledger Nano, including the ability to generate a private key and support a variety of currencies. Bitcoin, bitcoin cash , ethereum, litecoin and zcash will all be compatible, with more to add. The device can also be used to add an additional layer of security to a third-party wallet such as Mycelium.
A press release explains that the device will have an OLED screen display, a USB connection and compatibility with all major operating systems. To launch the portfolio, Archos partnered with Domraider, a blockchain company that raised $ 45 million through an ICO last year. As part of the operation, a Domraider edition of the wallet will be created, with €50 of DRT tokens released.
The Safe-T mini wallet which manufacturers claims have been developed internally, is scheduled to begin distribution by the month of June and will go for a retail price of $62.
