LinkedIn Top 50 Startups 2018: Coinbase, Gemini, and Ripple is Among The 50 most sought-after startups in the U.S.
Professional networking website LinkedIn just released its list of the top 50 startups in 2018. The top 50 list, ranks companies based on the billions of actions taken by more than 575 million LinkedIn users.
This year’s top startups list from LinkedIn has in total 5 names from the crypto space. Ripple ranks 7th on this list comprising 50 startups.
Coinbase (#3) and Ripple (#7) were seen as two of the top ten best startups in the United States, while Canadian crypto exchange Coinsquare (#2) was seen as the second best startup in Canada. Gemini Trust Company, meanwhile, was ranked in the 25th spot on the list of the best startups of 2018.
The list explains:
“Finance, modernized: Sending money between banks, across borders, remains stubbornly antiquated. Ripple uses blockchain technology to transform what had been a multi-day process into one completed in seconds. The 6-year-old startup now has more than 100 customers, including massive banks such as Santander and Standard Chartered; it added two new customers a week last quarter.”
Ripple excitedly announced the news in a tweet earlier today:
We’re honored to be named one of the #LinkedInTopStartUps. Congratulations to our team worldwide for the dedication to building the #InternetofValue and for making Ripple an incredible place to get the job done. Interested in joining our team? LinkedIn generated the list using data from its own website, including the actions of its 575 million LinkedIn members. The list was calculated based on four specific pillars, including:
- Employee growth
- Jobseeker interest
- Member engagement with the company and its employees
- How well startups pull talent from major companies
The platform considered all startups that are not older than 7 years, privately held and headquartered in the US and have at least 50 employees, before then, analyzed the data collected from their 575 million members with four metrics to come up with the list.
