Lawyer Warns Bitfinex Against Threats From Blogger
According to reports, the infamous Twitter manager and blogger, ‘Bitfinex‘ed’, hired the well-known lawyer Stephen Palley to fight against the legal threats posed against the blogger.
Stephen Palley, a partner in the Washington-based Anderson Kill law firm, fired off a sternly worded letter on Monday to Bitfinex‘s general counsel, Stuart Hoegner.
In the letter, Palley warned that if he finds that the exchange is behind “threats” that have been made against his client, “there will be the aura of legal consequences”.
Palley wrote to Hoegner:
“As you know, threats have been made and continue to be made against @bitfinex’ed. If we learn that your client is directly or indirectly responsible for these threats, or if any harm should take place to @bitfinex’ed as a result of these threats, there will be legal consequences.”
Steven Palley, a lawyer at Bitfinex’ed, confirmed to Cointelegraph that the above quote is a precise extract from a letter he sent to the Bitfinex lawyers. The disagreement is kept secret, but clearly legal progress is being made between Bitfinex and its detractors.
Recently, the ‘Bitfinex’ twitter handle was suspended and is now back online, and he / she recently shared the news of the new hired legal team. The anonymous person also accepted donations for the legal battle and accumulated 2.49 BTC (US $ 22,000).
