Ethereum Creator and Nouriel Roubini to Face Each Other in Live Debate
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and well-known economist Nouriel Roubini are currently hashing out the details of a live debate regarding the topics of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
Its been just a few days since Dr. Nouriel Roubini submitted his testimony to the US Senate where he called “Crypto is the Mother of All Scams” and since then the crypto community has been negatively abuzz with this speech.
Roubini is frequently referred to as Dr. Doom for successfully predicting the 2008 financial meltdown. He is now suggesting that the premise phase of Ether was a fraud.
Laura Shin, a crypto/blockchain journalist and host of the Unchained podcasts, first initiated this future debate by inviting Vitalik Buterin and Nouriel Roubini on her podcast Unchained.
Roubini was quick to respond by saying that he would be happy to have a live debate with Buterin, but not with Laura Shin as moderator, calling her a shill for the cryptocurrency industry and a pseudo-journalist. While Buterin on his part reacts positively to the invitation.
Happy to have a live debate with @VitalikButerin . We can agree on a fair moderator that we both agree on, not on biased shills pretending to be pseudo-journalists but who are PR folks for the crypto industry. I have no interest to interact with @laurashin https://t.co/J5EJcphaNV

Shin’s dismissal opened the door for other candidates. Buterin suggested Kevin Pham, a hater of the traditional economy and centralized system, to moderate the upcoming debate. Seeing that Pham hates Ethereum, along with the traditional market that “Roubini represents,” he agreed, calling upon industry leaders “to make it happen.”
A time, date, and venue have not yet been selected for this event, but they have seemingly already agreed on Kevin Pham as a moderator. Given the intense trolling and mudslinging, it’s hard to say if the debate will actually happen.
