AT&T Announces Integrated Blockchain Solutions For Businesses Using Tech From IBM & Microsoft
American telecommunications giant AT&T has announced a suite of blockchain solutions to help its customers solve their complex business problems.
AT&T’s blockchain solutions which will work with the IBM Blockchain Platform for data recording and Microsoft Azure’s blockchain technology aims to “bring additional transparency and accountability to even the most complex supply chains” for its enterprise customers.
This way, the customers will be able to manage and track their resources better, according to IBM. The company has designed this product thinking about companies like manufacturing, retail, and healthcare, which more often faces problems in these areas.
Andy Daudelin, vice president at AT&T, said in the press release that blockchain technology is “transforming the way many companies conduct business,” adding:
“Blockchain improves security and enables better management of transactions through complex processes.”
He further acknowledged that blockchain as a technology is not without its limitations. “It’s not for everything. It’s not a replacement for cloud, not a replacement for databases”. But in cases where “multiple people need to share that data and have the suitability of that data, it makes a lot of sense,” he concluded.
The company is also focused on using the internet of things (IoT) technology to add automation and critical monitoring capabilities to the product. This way, the design team can offer many solutions for the clients.
