E-Commerce giants Amazon is collaborating with Consensus Systems (ConsenSys) to bring blockchain into its cloud computing arm, the company announced on Tuesday, May 15.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) a subsidiary of Amazon has partnered with the recently launched blockchain startup Kaleido, which is a product of ConsenSys. The partnership aims to provide the AWS customers with an easy access to the benefits of blockchain technology.

AWS provides on-demand cloud computing platforms to individuals, companies and governments, on a paid subscription basis. Kaleido is going to be the first blockchain SaaS solution available on the AWS Market.

“They can focus on their scenario and they don’t have to become PhDs of cryptography, we give them a simple platform to build their company on blockchain,” said Steve Cerveny, co-founder of Kaleido.

According to the AWS, the partnership with Kaleido will help customers “move faster and not worry about managing blockchain themselves”.

The development comes after news broke out of a possible Facebook cryptocurrency launch. Following an executive shakeup last week, the social media giants formed a team to explore the applications of blockchain across facebook.
